Evap system small leak
So, my 1999 9-5 wagon 2.3L has been running with small leak code in evap system for some time. I have reset the code multiple time but sooner or later it always come back. I replaced the cap with a Stant cap from auto parts store with no luck and even grabbed a cap from a junk yard still with no luck.
I dont have a smoke machine to check the lines nor do I have a tech2. Just trying to see what I can try on my own before bringing it to a shop. Last time I did that, I had to pay $120 for a 2 dollar piece of vacuum hose.
Any thoughts on what to check next? I was thinking the purge valve which I can check but dont know if they are even available locally and thought I should check the lines before replacing the valve itself. Just hoping for some insight and opinions.

If I were you I would read the relevant section of WIS to see how it works before going any further.

Just went through everything on the online WIS. I know where its located and what kind of voltages and such. Ive looked up the part on eeuroparts.com and know that it's $150 or more for a new purge valve. I noticed that on the service port it says "1psi max" so I hesitate adding any pressure to it to try to locate a leak but I do have a small bottle of leak detecting fluid stuff that I can put all over those hoses... I'm just not too sure if it has pressure or vacuum while the car is running. One of the suggestions I read was to close the valve using a tech2 and using a smoke machine to look for a leak. WIS says the valve is closed at no voltage so I dont think that I need to use a tech2 unless I'm testing it while the engine is running but maybe I'm wrong. A friend suggested I could "smoke test" it by simply blowing cigarette smoke into it but again I hesitate to not put too much pressure into it.

Just watched a video about smoke tests and I now see where it would be the vent solenoid that I would need to close via tech2

I also see that its under vacuum so I cannot use a soap mixture to look for bubbles
