New Generation 2010 Saab 9-5 Front fog lights

Hi all. Need to replace the driver side front fog light after been taken out (securing brackets) broken off by a burst truck tyre on the motorway yesterday. Not sure if the bumper must be removed or just the black trim surround. Help please?

Just been on on the Saab workshop information and it shows the protection plate under the front of the bumper be removed. For future reference if someone needs to do the same. See images below.Name: image0 (3).jpg

Access to the fog light is from under the bumper as shown in your last image. P/N is 12775777 (RH).

To replace the fog light is actually straight forward. As per the diagram you have three bolts to be removed from the protector to come off. Three bolts hold the fog light in place. The clip for the bulb push and turn and that is it. Difficult bit is to gain access to the underneath of the car if you do not have a ramp. To jack the car up and then get under it is a risk.

It really isn't that bad, I did a 9-5 Aero estate front fog light without raising the car and there is slightly more room under the front of a NG9-5. Worth a try anyway but don't try working under the car with just a jack supporting it.

Perhaps I should add that I am happy working on bolts that I can't see, many are not.
