2003 SE A/C compressor
So, the A/C compressor will not engage on my 2003 93 SE convertible. I believe it is an electrical problem at the compressor, which is difficult to access. I get battery voltage at the connector behind the right headlight, but the clutch does not engage. At the compressor itself, I measure a small resistance for the coil in the clutch itself, but open circuit when I back up to the connector behind the headlight. Things are hard to see and access, but in other pictures of the compressor, the power wire seems to sneak to the back of the compressor through a round sensor of some sort before it goes to the clutch. What is this thing?

I'm going to answer my own question. After a bit of research, this is the "thermo contact" which is now a replaceable part.

The compressor clutch is actuated by the ECU providing a ground.
