Saab 9-3 convertible

2007 Saab 9-3 TID convertible, hood will only go down with ignition on, or else it says low battery with engine running, any help appreciated thanks.new Member new Saab owner.

Check to see if all your battery and ground connections are clean and tight.
If physically checking doesn't fix your problem check your battery with engine running and not running while you work the hood and if you see the same voltage drop you will probably be needing an alternator.
Not the most convenient, but if you have transportation to use while the alternator is out of the car for testing, take it to a place that has equipment to spin and load before replacing as you can always miss a bad connection and replacing a good alternator doesn't do much good.
