    Removing Smart Slot Cup Holder...

So, I got the smart slot cup holder and ice scraper as throw-ins with my car purchase, and I installed the cup holder and left it in from day 1. The issue is that the matte finish is peeling so it now is half shiny half matching the handbrake and looks really bad. I'm willing to sacrifice the cup holder and swap the ice scraper in, but now I have no clue how I would go about removing it because I don't remember how I installed it (there were almost no instructions, but after examining it for a while, there was really only one way to do it). Anyone ever removed one of these?

    Thanks!

I added the instructions from Saab in the accessory instructions thread. Hope this helps.

Didn't even know the 9-3's had something like that... pretty cool though!

Turns out just some slight wiggling and a bit of sustained tugging without too much force pulls the arms right back out. Then you just stash the springs, unscrew the two hex screws for the base, and put in whichever other accessory you want. I now have the ice scraper in...

Wish I could fix the cup holder though, for some reason they are something like $44...

That's great your dealer thru those things in. I couldn't even get my PDI'd or washed before being delivered!

Yeah, got my car "used" in May 2008 from Cold Brook Saab in Maine. Was some sort of limited engagement demo car, it only had 140 miles on it but had been bought at auction and thus for sale used and certified and somehow it had absolutely everything I wanted for options at the time.

Of course, now I've gotten over wanting an auto because of my crap commute and kind of want a Turbo X, though trading up to that will still prove pretty costly =\
