New Saab 9.3's to arrive in Australia
The latest information from a Saab dealer is that Saab/Spyker now have an arrangement with Australian Saab dealerships to deliver up to 60 Saab 9.3's to Australia as an initial shipment , there is no date for arrivals as yet. My dealer has 10 new 9.3's on order.:
At last the local dealers will get new 9.3's for the showroom floor , there is no information as yet when Saab/Spyker will start shipping new 9.5's to Australia. Saab/Spyker are working direct with local dealerships and not through any importer.Last edited by Aeroo; 10 September 2010 at 06:51.

I imagine existing dealers stay in business selling used Saabs and doing service work but it sure would be nice to have some new inventory after such a long time. Did the previous importer just close down or were they part of a larger group? I am sure there was something mentioned about this on SU but there has been a lot of news in the last year.

Does the Australian customer buy the car from the dealer's existing stock or is it possible (or common) to order a car?
In the US, I have heard of dealers trading cars, even while they are on the boat. Sometimes, they trade cars already in their inventory. Other times, dealers order cars for a specific customer. Many American customers buy cars that are already in the dealer inventory. I tend not to.

Dave , there have been no new Saabs in Australia since 2008, my dealer and others have ordered new 9.3's however there are are no delivery dates as yet which makes it difficult to pre-sell , however this was the case when l ordered my Turbo x , the best the dealer could do was late 2008 and then kept me informed as to actual delivery date...
