    From Klassiker:

Technology World organized a competition in 1963, where the first prize was a new Saab and a trip with it to Nice by plane. four people were winner take with them. second to fourth prize was a trip to the same place, but instead they got only a loan saab. All the cars were flown down with Transair purpose-built Commando to the Riviera.
Transair SE-CFG was an old warrior delivered to the U.S. Air Force in 1943, was bought by Transair in 1961 and was scrapped in 1966 after a crash in Bunia, Congo.

    Not a happy story

Often, there are stories about how a Saab driver survived a bad crash and attributed it the many safety features and design of Saabs.

Sometimes, however, there are sad stories as this one today, south of Seattle.

Man severely injured in crash with semi on I-5 | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News

State troopers responded to the scene, on southbound I-5 near the 375th Street exit...crossing back and forth from one lane to another.

At some point, the driver of the Saab lost control, crossed in front of a semi truck in the right lane and was struck in a crash that severely damaged the vehicle.

The driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Frank, was there a massive meeting of Dutch and surrounding nationalities in Germany last weekend? I could swear the A6 Autobahn going Eastbound on last Saturday was packed with Dutch eating toast with hagelslag, Belgians with their funky license plates, and pretty much every car from Luxembourg. And why do they drive so slow?

Hmmm, toast with hagelslag. Make sure the toast is warm when you put on the hagelslag so it melts a little bit.

I think there is a school vacation at the end of February in the Netherlands so perhaps that was it? I am not sure, nobody briefed me on any secret meetings. Most people in Europe seem to be on a perpetual vacation with a few 30-hour work weeks in between.
