One of the things I heard when I was investigating into this area was, that a newer disc (there should be updates in 2007 and 2009) will update the software inside the nav-system it was after this Vette and Landrover discs should work.

If you're interested in testing for this purpose you are welcome to borrow my disc (the maps are western europe). If you send your adress to me cmunkholm@webspeed.dk, I will send the disc. Please return the disc though as it really helped me getting around and it was extremely expensive (4 times the price of a tomtom gps system)

Hi Carsten, are you still following this thread?

I am not sure if you have heard, but the 9.5 Denso units stopped working as of December last year. i have just posted here: http://saabworld.net/showthread.php?t=34391 and posted before here; http://www.uksaabs.co.uk/UKS/viewtop...47667#p1847667

It seems to be the way the Satellite now communicates with the unit. One possibility is that those who updated the software/firmware of the unit because they bought updated DVD maps, do not have this problem. I never did so, so I have the problem if it is related.

Your post suggested you have the updated DVD. Do you? And if so could I borrow it to test? Or is there any info you have that could be helpful?

I live presently in Germany btw and would also be happy to call you if this is simpler for you.

Hope to hear from you or anybody who has insight on this.

It is possible that the updated DVD by itself will not be enough. You will probably have to make a firmware update.
Is there anybody near you that can do that?
    Tnx.
    Thanks for your reply. Appreciated.

Mm, not sure if there is, will need to phone around to find out. Suppose former Saab garages and dealers? any suggestions?

I got really lucky while checking at the parts stores and got a few different recommendations to the same mechanic shop as being a really good and fair priced saab specialist. You might check that way.
