Back when I first got my NG I ran 87 octane the whole first year. Randomly, with a gas gift card, I got 93 octane and have since kept 91 or higher in the tank for the last 3 and a half years. I think once when gas was up to $5.15/gal. I mixed in 89 but that was just a few times one summer. I rode my bike a lot then... With the higher octane the car feels smoother over all, and MPG is consistently higher (by 2 or 3) than the year I ran 87. Of course, I did a lot to the car since then as well so that could also contribute to the higher MPG's but either way I'll take them! The c900 gets good old 87 every time.

The C900 Turbo says it's recommended to run premium (91 where I'm at), but due to the nature of the APC system you can run lower if necessary. The SPG says premium only. I now understand the reasons why

Since throwing all the SPG parts on my T16 (then modifying the APC and doing the stop mod, then adjusting the timing) I had to run 87 for a while because I just couldn't afford 91. Hadn't noticed a whole lot as I stay off the throttle for the most part, but I had noticed some "misfiring". Told myself it was all due to the old cap/rotor/plugs/wires. NOPE. Put 91 in today (hooray for a $65 fillup!) and the "misfire" is almost entirely gone. Still have issues due to the old parts shown above but dang it runs smoother at higher throttle now

Our strawberries should be in a few weeks down the road. I am praying for a hot and dry spell. A few years back the berry was small and not juicy and plump like we are accustomed to but the young girl at the farm said try one. All of the flavor of the patch was condensed to a single berry. She said the last hot week had stunted size but they were not large and bloated with water ... the flavor was out of this world.

Our strawberries here in Spain have a good taste and I still can buy as the vegetables and fruits are getting so expensive but strawberries are cheaps.

going back to the octane rate prices continuing on high prices, the average price for 98oct is about 1.450 Eur's per liter.

I only ever use Shell Optimax in my 9-5 as it goes so much better on that than 95 RON.

I only run 91 or 92 octane in my 9-3, or if I'm at a Sunoco station I buy Ultra 94. I use Shell or Marathon almost exclusively. To be honest, the .10 cent difference between 89 and 91 isn't that significant when you're only buying 14-15 gallons at a time.

BP(British Petroleum) used to be Sohio or Standard Oil out of Ashland, KY. Back in the late 70's and early 80's Sohio was known, at least around here, for having an issue during the winter with fuel line freeze up. I'm sure it's not an issue anymore, but the horror stories remain embedded in my subconscious.
