Saabs on the Arabian Peninsula

I visited the UAE a long time ago and it has made a lasting impression. I came across this picture on Facebook and was wondering if there are any Saab clubs in this part of the world. Or individual Saab owners who want to share information here on SaabWorld.

www.saab.com list several countries in the Middle East and there even is a www.saabarabia.com website with links to various countries. However, these links are not going anywhere.



My search continues and I am hoping Saab owners in this part of the world can provide more information.

That would be great to see. Especially with the Dubai Creek, a souk. the desert or other traditional places in the background. I think many only know Dubai for the modern skyscrapers these days.

Dubizzle shows a decent number of Saabs for sale in the UAE. There are actually more than I expected and they don't seem too expensive. I think Gargash Motors was the official Saab dealer and importer in the UAE.

Most common is the Saab 9-3 and these are rare Saabs in the UAE.

1990 Saab 900 Convertible

It's a classic car, never seen another one on the streets in the UAE. Only issue is that the gearbox needs to be fixed, estimated cost is 8,500AED. The price was reduced, and negotiable with serious buyers.

The car is currently at Kaissi Auto Service in Dubai.
