The flower fields are only there in April and I assume land is used for other crops the rest of the year. The reason they have these flower fields is that bulbs need to produce a flower before they can replicate. These bulbs are then harvested and sold and shipped all over the world. The flowers themselves are usually not sold and just die off after a while. So it's just business for the farmers but is a tourist attraction at the same time. They are commonly know as "bulb fields" and not as "flower fields" in the Netherlands.
A common summer job for Dutch teenagers was working in the bulb fields to gather the bulbs or "peeling" bulbs after the harvest. I think kids these days have higher expectations of employment so it is probably done by cheap labor from Eastern Europe.

Weird hearing such a sound from a wagon. The idle sound is similar to a boat with outboard exhaust...

Just found out today that I scored the position of Forum Page Editor for my schools newspaper next year! My first position as an official editor, and I'm pretty excited.

So I finally got Hildy out (home for summer!), and the old tires are getting taken off, but before the new ones go on, I'm going to pain the wheels. What do you guys think? Paint the black (like the 93/92) go red (like the Monte Carlo) or stay silver.

Silver looks best. Understated but stylish.

Red or silver. Not a fan of black. The bold side of me says red....

The red appears to be "period" .. I kind of like it. Was there some logic like matching something else like the interior?
Note that young Nathan .. noted and notorious for wit and obtuse .. is back. Glad to see that; how the heck have you been?

I don't know why they were red. Black is currently winning in my mind. Silver just seems too bland but not necessarily in a bad way, and red is a little too flashy. I guess I'll have to see what actual colors the store has. tunnan is right I think... it looks like most of the ones with red wheels have red interiors. And hello Nathan!
