The Mini is probably the most uncomfortable car I've ever driven. My cousin has a first gen new Mini, we drove it up to Mid-Ohio for a track day in 03 or 04. I could not find a comfortable driving position.

I like the VW type 3 fastback:

Lots of 'em in Taiwan while growing up. And Karmann Ghias too.

I grew up around commie cars. You will be disappointed, to say the least. Oh and by the way, it's spelled "Moskvich" (Москвич).

My father had two trabbies. Brand new from the showroom. 50,000km between full engine overhauls. You can rebuild the engine in about 1 hour. The 2nd trabant was replaced by a Lada 2101, which was replaced by a Mercedes 240 diesel with 600k kilometers. Man do you go through cars quickly.

Man, there are a myriad of cars like this for me! DKW, Puma, VW SP-2, or a whole lot of French cars!

I do have a soft spot for impractical Group B homologation cars:

    Metro 6R4

    Ford RS200

    Renault 5 Turbo

    Peugeot 205 Turbo 16

And a few Italian "mechanics specials" too...

Fiat Uno 1.6R (why? My uncle had one when I was learning to drive and that car a was a lot of fun to drive)

    Fiat X1/9

    Fiat Ritmo 130 TC Abarth

Autobianchi A112 Abarth (heck, slap some Abarth stickers on any small Italian car and I'm hooked)

I like the Fiat X1/9 too.

And the Triumph TR7/8, aka "The Wedge":

Keep your eye on the car please
