Do you have to know the answer to the question you ask?
    I don't think so.
No reason we can't learn something new and this isn't a challenge to see if someone can correctly answer the question, but simply to answer it.
I mean, there are a lot of things we can theorize about ...

And then that begs the question, do we need to "know" the answer or provide a serious guess?
Everyone can just "google" it (whoever thought google would become a verb ) but is that right/fair?
That is one I can't answer ... but I wouldn't use google for something like this.
I think I would rather put an intelligent, well thought out answer out there and find out I was wrong than to just copy and paste someone else's answer.
    Sounds good to me.

And for Dave's question, my (logical) guess would be Germany. Car crazy country, autobahn, first motor car, yadda yadda yadda... that's my guess.

    1999 9-3SE (2013-2015), 2005 9-3 (2005-2013), 1990 900 (1990-2003)
Answer: The answer is disputed. One answer is that it was green to increase standarization and ease of production. Source: I think it was one of the Saab books. Another answer is that the company had a huge stockpile of green paint. Source: probably Saab Soundings magazine, published by Saab Scania of America, many years ago.

    New question: multiple choice

Saabs have been assembled (at least from the standpoint of the legal authorities of the country) in all of the following countries, except:
    a. Finland
    b. Belgium
    c. Japan
    d. USA
    e. Mexico
    f. Sweden
    g. Denmark
    h. Italy
    i. Latvia
    j. Austria
    k. Germany

extra credit: identify at least one model assembled in each country. In some cases, only one model was made in that country or even just a special limited production of as few as 50 cars.

That's the winning answer, at least according to Saab.

The paint was readily available in surplus army supplies left over from the war. Saab did not offer a color choice until 1952.

Let's see if I can do this from memory..

    a. Finland - 900
    b. Belgium - 93, 96 and 99
    c. Japan - 9-2X
    d. USA - 9-7X
    e. Mexico - 9-4X
    f. Sweden - 9-3, 9-5 and many more
    g. Denmark - 93, 96
    h. Italy - That Lancia-Saab
    i. Latvia
    j. Austria - 9-3 Convertible
    k. Germany - Some of the early 9-5 gen-II were made here, according to Dave 37.

So my final answer is Latvia.

Q: What's the meaning of Linear, Arc and Vector?

It was mentioned in saabsunited but I can't find the article. There's a picture of the 9-5 coming off the assembly line in that article. Should we find the article for posterity?

    This article? http://www.saabsunited.com/2009/11/s...-saab-9-5.html

A dozen bodies were pressed in Rüsselsheim before the final move was carried out in autumn, from Germany to Trollhättan. Before that, the Opel factory “hand built” around 50 9-5: or used to test and crash tests, and exhibitions.

    2005 9-5 Arc, 1999 9-5 V6 ( Sold )
A: those terms are supposed to denote architectural elements and replaced previous model designations of S, SE etc. They mesh with saab's new( at that time ) advertising campaign emphasizing form

Not sure if that is the correct answer or not, but I will go ahead and Ask a question anyway

Q: Why is it that every time I try to do maintainance on my saab, I end up with one screw left over after I am done? should I just give up while I am still ahead?

I am not sure about the right answer so that's why I asked it. I think I read somewhere that Linear is the shortest distance between two points so the basic version of a Saab. Arc is longer, curved line indicating more luxury and extras. Vector is an arrow which is the fastest between two points so these are the sportier and faster models. I have searched for that information but can't find it anymore. So your answer is correct!

A: Don't give up! Just start detailing where they came from better!

Q: What was the "poster car" on your wall (or in your head) when you were a kid?
