    I knno Florida seems like avery long state to drive through, especially something like Key West to Pensacola, and I am sure the distance is surprisingly very similar between the choices you gave us, but I'll bet that Key West to Pensacola is the shorter drive.

    That's correct, it is very close in distance and only is about 50 miles longer to Chicago. Amazing you can drive so far in just one state.

    I was going the same way, though I've never been to Florida, if I could skip the rest of the state, I would love to drive US1 down to the Keys and you are damned near in Havana.

    Mine leaked water, too! I had the dealer caulk it under warranty and it held up for more than a dozen years that I had the car after that.

    I don't know why it was there. Besides the suggestions above, maybe it was a vent in some cars?
