2004 Saab 9-3 2.0T Aero doesn?t decelerate when throttle is released

I just acquired this car , it has 160k miles on it. When driving and I take my foot off the throttle it takes a long time before the speed starts to decrease. It?ll go a block at slow speeds and on the highway it can go for a quarter mile before the speed starts to drop. Annoying! I?m thinking maybe throttle body issues. It doesn?t throw any codes.

A tribute to outstanding wheel bearings.

What if the car is in neutral? Same thing?

    Dave,

my experience with neutral: if I’m tooling along the freeway at 65 mph and I release the throttle, and I catch up to traffic, it takes a fair amount of pedal pressure to slow down. If I shift into neutral, it requires about half the amount of pressure.

I will be looking at how it responds to coasting without using the brakes and also monitor the RPM. See what happens.
