It's a good looking car, but I'd like to do away with the plastic on the lower portions.

Did VM actually say that ?

"Saab CEO Victor Muller quoted Winston Churchill today at the LA Auto Show saying "If you're going through hell... keep going." Muller says that Saab has gone through hell and is seeing the light on the other side."

Ask me a question about your c900! I promise I either can answer it or know someone who can

    Wulf, there's always a Saab-Scania OE vehicle:

Morph the 900 on stilts with the Saab/Scania OE vehicle and you have the 9-4X.

I am comparing the 9-4X (or any other crossover) to an "adventure" type motorcycle. It's good at many things but doesn't excel in certain tasks.

A true SUV is better for off-roading, rock-crawling and towing.
A sports car is better in handling and accelerating/branking
A small car or hybrid is better for fuel economy
A van is better for transporting people and cargo
A large sedan is perfect for a cross-country trip

For example, my kind of riding on my motorbike is ride for about 150 miles on the road, explore a few back roads and out of the way places, load it up with luggage cases and camping gear, or take it for a short ride around town. I also ride it for longer trips a few times a year. A sport-tourer would be better for long highway trips, a dirt bike for serious offroading, a true sport bike for speed and handling and a cruiser for style. But the fact is I want to do all those things in one day and I can only afford one motorcycle.

As long as you don't expect a crossover to excel in certain areas, it'll be a great vehicle for many activities. Now I really want a 9-4X!
