    Disabling daytime driving lights

Regarding this procedure, once you remove the fuse and disable the daylight running lights, do you then just use the headlight push button switch to activate those lights? Or are those lights permanently disabled?

When you remove the DRL fuse (daylight driving lights in the WIS), the headlights will be off when the switch is in the 0 position. The other switch positions 1 and 2 will turn on city lights and/or dipped beam, depending on which part of the world you are in. If you leave the switch in the 2 position, the dipped beam will still turn off when you turn off the ignition.

Thanks Wulf, fuse pulled. Now we'll see how much longer these lamps last.

    I've also pulled the fuse.

Any idea if there's a way to have the "dipped lights" off but fogs on?

For the North American market, dipped (or low) beam lights are required for having the fog lights on at the same time. This doesn't make sense at all because fog lights are supposed to work best without regular headlights. Apparently, American lawmakers disagree on that idea..

The dealer can change your headlight settings to "Euro mode" with Tech 2 so you can use your fog lights without regular headlights. I am not sure if many dealers are willing to do that or even know what you're talking about. Some may refuse because it probably is against the law.
