Water Leaks Inside Car

Does anyone have any idea as to HOW the rain water from the two clogged roof drains is getting into my back seat floor wells? There is NO water on the door sills near the floor. I just can't figure out how the rain water is ending up where it is on the back seat rugs WITHOUT having left a trail behind it to show where it is originating from?

Water has a strange way of traveling where you would least expect it to. One design flaw with my wagon is in it's upper brake light on the rear lift gate. One of it's clips breaks, releasing the pressure that holds down it's gasket and presto, water manages to somehow leak in through the seal and end up as a puddle in the middle of my rubber cargo mat in the cargo compartment. I have not idea how it ended up puddling in that particular area, but there it was. The Saab upper brake light has three clips that hold it down, all poorly designed of plastic which cannot take the stress after a number of years and finally crack. The only solution is buy another complete light assembly at a cost of $126. It was a very costly but simple fix.

First off - I did not read all of the post - so sorry if I repeat.

The floor leak is caused from the drain from the cowl under the windshield area and from the evaporator being clogged. Make sure all exiting drains are clear - if they get mud or dirt in them they WILL back up and flood the car out. Another member on TSL had this same thing happen to his 99' 9-5 - 1/2 the car was soaked with water until he cleared the drain for the evaporator. Check those out!

Has anyone had any luck fixing this problem? I have the exact same thing going on with my 2002 9-3. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here are some WIS documents on checking and cleaning the evaporator drainage hoses for the Saab 9-5. There wasn't information for the Saab 9-3.

It is good preventive maintenance on any car with a sunroof to make sure your drains aren't clogged. I run some wire through the drains once in a while, at least the times a year, maybe more often.

Thanks. I definitely plan on doing that but I was curious to see if the OP solved his problem. I'm just trying to flush out (no pun intended) all of the potential leak sources in the 9-5. It seems that the moon roof drain is the likely culprit.
