You probably have to add a Ground Loop Isolator between the pre-amp output and car amplifier but any other converters are not needed. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EAWRZG

U say hook ur aftermarket pre amps directly to amp.? Is there a harness to connect to or do we just splice into the speaker outputs and turm them into rcas like u did with car wire harness??

No splicing, just use RCA's to plug into the head unit pre amp outputs. (Install a pair of GLI's between the head unit and the rca's in the pic above to avoid the 'pop' problem.)

You can see the rca's in the picture above with the green tape identifying the speaker inputs - RR, RF, LR, LF. They then go to the appropriate pins on the black connector which plugs into the car/amp.

Hey Wulf. I picked up the metra 70-1786 and noticed that the yellow and red wire are in different locations than the harness diagram you have. They're switched around. Red is above black and yellow is the further one out on the first row
Should i switch them in the wiring process?

Yes, and you will only use the one in number 8 in the diagram. So the red wire on your harness.

Okay thanks, i hope i got it wired properly. The Alpine i have doesnt come with an illumination wire. One last thing, Wulf. I'm having issues getting the damn thing out. I got the din tools but still doesn't budge. Any tips without completely ruining my trim by prying it out. The tools used to click but now it feels like theyre being wedged in and go in pretty far

You can remove the ACC below and/or the SID above the head unit and try to push it out from the back through the openings in the cage. Depending on the size of your fingers, you can also try to pull from the CD slot at the same time.

So I'm not sure if im putting the din tools wrong but i dont feel them moving anything when they click into place. I removed the acc and I'm pulling it from behind and still nothing. Ive pulled them apart and wiggled them and to no avail. 😩

Hey there guys, still having issues with the installation of the stereo. So i went out and got a voltage metet and noticed that the remote pin im supposed to use is not getting any power to it. When i touch the place of the number 2 on the metra (the one we don't use) and it has power. Is my vehicle harness bad? Shouldni just use then number two pin for remote?

The Remote On wire only has power to it when the head unit is turned on. It is a signal for the remote amplifier to turn itself on when the head unit is turned on.
