    Functionality

Some interesting functionality I have discovered.

    The calendar is quite good.
Grabs user birthday info and posts their names.
Unfortunately, it is lacking the "happy birthday" part, but cool none the less.

I wonder just how crowed it will get.

I have just added in the SCC driving school for October.
May add our club meetings too ...
But again, the question/concern becomes, how busy/messy is this going to end up being once we have a few more users and/or events posted?

You can exclude birthdays form the calendar, it's a setting in the Admin CP. I'll exclude them for now so it won't get too crowded on there.

Using the calendar for all Saab events is great idea. There is an option to add more calendars so perhaps we can split it up by continent so North America and Europe can have their own, for example?

Just noticed that you can add more calendars.
I think we should do that.
Also, consider having a birthday only calendar. I know, a little off the wall, but it adds the personal touch.

Lastly, we should consider a global calendar for larger events ... SOC may be for "North America" but it is attended by those from other countries as well.
Same with the Festival in Sweden.
Also, if we ever have something like the Saab Convoys, it would be good to have something like this to keep track of them.

Something tells me that we are going to be quite busy over the next little while trying to nail down what we would like out of this forum.

    Member Location

Something I've mentioned in the past but don't know if this system can handle ..

It would be good if via Google Earth each member could indicate their exact location wherever in the World they are.

    This is SaabWorld

And after tapping on a marker near Paris one would read the name of the member, his Profile and how to contact him...

I have ideas but no knowledge about whether feasible and how to impliment them

Hey I'm getting ready for Happy Hour .. it's 21:26 here in France.

Oh, if ever we have a SaabWorld map .. it would be good to see local times

    Cheers.

    Ideas are always good!

There are two calendars now. Event Calender and Birthday Calender When you're on the calendar page, there is a Calender Picker drop down box where you can select.

What is the difference of a "Group" and a "Permission Group"?

When I click to view my own profile, there is "Albums" then "Groups" and "Permission Groups". But I don't see it on other people's profiles.

Wild guess - "Groups" are for more loose groupings - "People who like putting T5 on c900s", p'raps.
"Permissions Groups" will be for controlling access to specific forums.
