Inside Saab by Swade

Steven Wade started as a Saab blogger with TrollhattanSaab and later SaabsUnited.  He was hired by Saab to promote the brand and tell the story from inside the company.  Inside Saab was a popular blog and news site with many Saab fans following daily updates about the company, cars and community.

Steven started with Saab in April 2011 and his employment with the company ended abruptly in December 2011 when the company declared bankruptcy.  The official Saab sites were taken offline soon after and SaabWorld was able to archive some of the sites.

Steven (a.k.a. Swade) kindly agreed this content should be preserved as an interesting part of Saab’s history and we made this archived site available on SaabWorld.  He provides some more details on his personal blog.

He mentions to check out the video page of the site.  Other car manufacturers often have promotional videos but these Saab videos have a personal touch that can only really be done if it is told by an enthusiast working for one of the smaller car companies.

Saab Automobile AB is long gone but the Saab spirit will always remain.  Steven found a new home at Koenigsegg where he continues to engage car enthusiasts with another Swedish car company.   You can follow the blog here: http://koenigsegg.com/blog/

Inside Saab is in chronological order like most blogs but it is best to start with the first article that explains the aim and goals of Inside Saab: Welcome to Inside Saab

Saab has decided to take a big leap of its own into the social media space, and I’ve been fortunate enough to be invited along for the ride. To work for one’s favourite company, in such an exciting industry and at such a unique time in history is an enthusiast’s dream. I’ve been on board with Saab for just two weeks and I’m already bursting at the seams over the things I’ll be able to share with you here. I’m even more excited about the things I can’t share, but we’ll get to those eventually.

Saab is blessed with a passionate and engaged enthusiast community. Rather than just have you read press releases, we want to bring you Saab’s story from the inside, and from an enthusiast’s point of view.

  • How do we design and build our cars?
  • Who are some of the people involved?
  • What goes on behind the scenes?
  • What happens at Saab events around the world?
  • How can you connect more with Saab?
