  • Saab Swiss Fondue meet in Switzerland

A Saab meet took place in Switzerland last weekend and some pictures are showing up on Flickr. Nice to see some good coverage in the press. The newspaper L'Express featured an article with more information about the meet and the Saabistis who attended.

"We open more bottles than hoods!" The color is announced at the outset by Dimitri Baumgartner, who spearheaded the first Saab Swiss Fondue held this weekend at his farm in Coty. This international meeting, not quite like the others, did not aim to exhibit the gleaming Swedish cars. "The Saabistes are partiers," says this enthusiast who, with his partner, retains fifteen cars of the mark with the crowned eagle logo in the barn. Indeed, with the arrival of guests - from Alsace, Franche-Comte and Belgium - the kitchen table looks like a land of gastronomy. "Most saabistes you'll encounter have the distinction of having the cars of other brands as well. Arguably the saabistes are Epicureans! "

      Any French speakers?

Basically the headlines say that Saabers drive far (up and down the valley) for a (happiness) of a fondue.

It says it's the first Swiss fondue meeting. Lots of people, about 60 people, drove long distances to get there (including Belgium and Lille). There are testimonies on why they like Saab. Some because it's different, it's classy, sporty, chic, etc. At the end, someone has battery trouble because of the cold weather.

Ok, not a very good translation.
