If all the millions paid by Youngman and Pang Da were received a little earlier and paid to the suppliers, Saab might have continued on. In retrospect, if the licensing of GM intellectual property (IP) were better negotiated in early 2010, Saab might not have had the problems of today. For example, if production of the 9-3 and 9-5 based on IP licensing were assured for a minimum of 6 years without regard to ownership, there would be fewer problems. However, the details of corporate negotiations are not public so it is speculation whether this might have even been acceptable to GM. As far as the 9-4X, it would have been good if Saab had the right to purchase a certain number of vehicles every year no matter who owned Saab.
