GS short shifter
Has anyone installed the GS short shifter on a 06+? I am looking for instructions and have only turned up in my search for instructions up to MY05. I assume its similar but I was hoping there might be instructions or WIS for the 2006+ online somewhere. TIA for any assistance.

First off, I'm not 100% familiar with the changes from the '05 and previous to the '06 and up, but I think the changes were only visual and to the interior. I think all mechanical things are pretty much the same. I could be 100% wrong, but I think you should be okay to use the instructions you've found.

Thanks Shazam. Although I was hoping to find directions on removing the center console because whenever I've done anything like that before I always end up breaking some stupid little plastic tab!

Those are different from the '05 and prior to the '06+; I think.
But yes, the damned plastic tab. It's always the most important one that breaks, and never the one that wasn't really needed.
What about this link? Right model year?

That's for model year <=2005 but it should be pretty similar with 2006+. I replaced the center console cover on my 2006 and it wasn't difficult. You slide it out the same as <=2005. The upper part where you remove the 2 screws is just a bit different for 2006+.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate the help. I'm going to chance it and I'm having the mechanic from the used car lot I got the Saab from see if he wants to try installing the short shifter for me (I'm printing out the instructions) since they have to fix the handbrake boot and will have the center console off already. Fingers crossed.
