Old story. New SID = "Low Washer Fluid". Do I Need Tech2 ?
Well, my used Saab had some missing pixels in the SID2 (5263249) so I Bought a used SID2 (12806124) from eBay and the pixels are 100%. Didn't think the part would cause a problem, and the listing said it was compatible with the 2001 9-5 wagon.
Problem is, I get the "Low Washer Fluid" warning and I just put a whole bottle of the blue stuff in there. It's full.
On reading other posts, it seems that only a Tech2 can solve this. Is this correct? Is there any other way to reset this beast?2001 9-5 Wagon

More like windows "plug and pray". Oh well, it's a bummer. thanks for the info. I think I'll try to repair the old one with the new silver kit, and then if that ends up ok, I'll sell this one on. Literally everything works except every time you start it up it has the washer fluid message. bigger fish to fry right now. we'll see how it goes in the weeks to come. I'lll update this thread if I do anything with either of my SID2 units.

I know why I thought it was plug and play. I forgot I sent it BBA Reman and they fixed it for around 60.00 with a lifetime warranty. It was the easiest job I have ever done to pull it out and put it back.

Well they charge $100 now and you can get a used one for much cheaper than that. It makes more sense to replace the ribbon cable yourself and then sell the extra SID.
Fix original SID $30 >>use it in car after fixing it on your time
Buy used functional SID $60 >> use while ordering parts/repairing original, then sell for a little less than bbreman repair (or cheaper to a member here)
That way, you aren't without a SID and have full instrumentation.Last edited by AT ONE SIR; 20 July 2013 at 17:11.

I have a NOS 9-5 SID I'll be posting for sale soon. It's NIB/NOS - I'll be looking for around $150 for it.
