Thumbs Up: 1 An alternative to Saab Central
Finally, hopefully this forum will eventually eclipse Saab Central. The Admins there were running it horribly. Thanks for whoever set this site up! Surely this isn't free... are donations being taken?

Thumbs Up: 134 Welcome Member 1! Donations are not needed at this point but I appreciate the offer. The vBulletin software was the initial investment and hosting is joined together with my other sites. If this new forum takes off, it may be neccessary to move to a shared or dedicated server but that's way in the future.
Not sure if SC is over but it's nice to have alternatives. I feel much better already.

Thumbs Up: 1 Very nice to have alternatives. The vBulletin software must have been a rather large initial investment. Surely donations would help.

Thumbs Up: 1 I'm sure with some simple adsense you could cover most costs quite easily, especially considering in the short time I've had my search feature setup for SC I've made $4.00... Not much but thats only 1700 searches on a page not many people know about :-p .... I think you definitely have the traffic potential for a couple of ad zones to do quite well... And then when the Brand is fully restored you'll have parts suppliers knocking on your door :-D

Who do you host with btw?
I have a feeling SC just had a horrible host.. It really shouldn't take more than shared hosting on a decent host that doesn't over sell it's resources

Thumbs Up: 134 It's hosted on 1and1 with shared hosting. I have used them for many years and they never let me down. If necessary, the forum can be moved to their virtual or dedicated servers in the future.

Let's do this the right and ethical way. If there is enough buzz going on, people will find it sooner or later.
