HELP! Need a driver's side airbag sensor

Hi Folks,

I have had my sensor out for a few months now and I need to get it fixed ASAP to sell my lovely 2002 93 Special Edition. My mechanic can no longer find it, however, at the scrapyards. Any suggestions? I know there are a lot of Saabs around Boston, maybe one of their yards? My mechanic tells me that there is a difference between the left and right sensors, as well as between the years. I believe I need to get one from a 2002 or 2003.

Not only difference between the left and right sensors and the years, but as well chassis numbers. You haven't told us if your 9-3 is a CV, 3 door or 5D. Assuming being the latter, the P/N regarding the driver's side sensor is 48 47 489 (or 4847489) for two 5D chassis number series, and 52 66 135 for 2002 - 2003 5D. Both P/Ns are obsolete and by Saab given replacement P/N 12 806 137.

There's at least one P/N 52 66 135 on eBay, priced at $32.00.

The 12 806 137 is available on The Saabsite at $140.69
