2004 9-5 ARC ; right front turn signal shell leaks

The plastic turn signal 'shell' on right front leaks, probably along a seam edge. Is this common.? Is it easy to remove the unit so I can dry out the water in there.? Can I run a narrow bead of clear silicone along the edge to seal it or is there something better to use.?

Depress the snap-lock catch at the back, push out the direction indicator and unplug the connector.

    If
you find the seam is leaking, I assume it's ok to use silicone for sealing it.
