Got notice of private msg in email. Turns out some guy in Florida with no posts sent me link to cheap parts, but no Saab stuff. I thought you had to have a certain number of posts to get onto private messaging?

This user has been spamming quite a number of our members so thanks for the alert.
It sounds like a good idea to set a minimum number of posts before you get PM priviliges so I'll set it to a minumum post count of 10.

The fasted way for help is posting in the public forums and I would like to prevent new members from contacting other members just because they want a quick answer. Is a minumum of 5 posts more acceptable?

The new rules are in place now. As this is pretty easy to circumnavigate, I also set up PM throttling so you can send 5 messages max per hour.
