Here is a pic of the old rusty stock exhaust system and the new stainless BSR side by side. My old system had holes in the flex pipe and in the middle resonator and the flange was cracked at the middle resonator as well. The new exhaust has a much deeper tone and a rumble at idle.
Another benefit of the swap was the weight difference, the old exhaust was noticeably heavier and would hit the ground with a thud when dropped. At least twenty pounds in the difference maybe more.

That's a sweet looking exhaust. You don't see more than the tailpipe but that looks very good as well. Did you directly order from BSR in Sweden? I looked around on their website and they have a soundclip on their product page. Doesn't too loud and it's a nice sound as you mentioned. €399 seems pretty reasonable.

Genuinesaab.com sells the BSR cat back exhaust like the one pictured currently at $495. Occasionally they are on sale. The cat back is a bit misleading as there is no flex pipe included. BTW that is one righteous rusty exhaust system. Amazed it came out intact.

I bought the exhaust at Genuine Saab for $495. The description says Simons but it's a BSR.

$495.00
Cat Back Exh for 9-5 4cyl Aero 2004-on and 2006-on All 9-5 Models.
Fits both Sedan and Wagon. Refined Sport sound and a decent boost in both power and response. Stainless construction by Simons Sweden.

One thing to note, the system is not really 'catback' as the flex pipe just after the cat is not included. I bought the flex pipe separately on ebay. My flex pipe actually fell off when I was removing the old system!

Were you able to use your old flex pipe, and if not, where did you get your new one?

No problem southsaab. I found the flex pipe on ebay for only $60 and it was in Canada so shipping was cheap and no customs.
