2007 SAAB 95, hard starting Cold Engine
my 95 has been difficult to start in the AM. Sometime two or three cranks to get it to run. What I have done:
Since acquiring it a year ago:
- New plugs, new engine cassette, just replaced the Crank Shaft Position sensor
- My mechanic measured the fuel line pressure and leakage, resulting in indicating that the back flow assembly (now inside the fuel pump) was not and issue {maybe}.
- I run High Test Gasoline, have also used SeaFoam additive to clean things out
As the fuel pump replacement is costly, have to drop the tank to remove the pump on the 2007, I am looking to exhaust all other possibilities first.
PS My mechanic is owner of Rocky Top Guru , Montague, MA, 25 years working on SAAB's, works on nothing else.

Perhaps there is some water in the fuel and a bottle of Heet in your tank is a quick fix for that.
Does it make a difference when it's cold outside? If so, perhaps a new battery will make a difference. But if you already had it checked by a knowledgeable Saab mechanic, I am sure they would have checked this already.

Thanks for the ideas. Has new battery, been running SeaFoam additive. The current thinking is that it might be the check valve, that in this yr/model is part of the pump. Even though the pressure / leakage has been checked by my SAAB Guru.
NB: Plus some rocket scientist from GM changed how the pump is replaced. On this model/ year the tank has to be dropped.

I forgot to answer your Question about temperature. Warm mornings same problem. After running 20 miles to work and sitting all day, starting is not a problem.
sitting FROM 6 pm TO 6 AM then there is a problem
