2001 Saab 93 - Strange red wax-like substance in tire valve
Hi everyone,
I was doing my monthly tire pressure checkup today, and when I screwed off the valve cap on one of the tires I saw that the tire valve was plugged with a strange wax-like substance! Does anyone know what this is? It's preventing me from pumping the tires. The car - a 2001 Saab 93 - was in maintenance at the shop in recent weeks, could they have put this red stuff in there for some reason? Or did the red substance come from some other place?
Please see the attached images. Thanks in advance.

Did you find out what it was? Perhaps tire sealant that was used to fix a flat tire?

I never found out, it remains a mystery. The shop said they did not put it there.

Are you sure that's wax and not a rubber seal.

Ah, so it is a valve cap gasket! Strange though how it got squished into the valve stem cap.
