    Lost A/C... IN FLORIDA

    So of all the places to lose my A/C it had to be after I moved back to Florida. Now I've checked the 20 amp fuse labeled F36 in the fuse box sitting next to the battery (to the right as you're looking at the engine from the front of the car), the 10 amp fuse labeled 3 in the small fuse box in front of the battery under the battery cover, several fuses for climate control, accessories, and fan rated at 7.5 amps, 10 amps, and 40 amps, and checked the relay labeled number 3 to make sure that the circuit was closing and that there was no resistance while the circuit was closed. While running the engine I set the fan (which by the way was not running which will be part of my question) all the way up and hit the A/C button to turn the A/C off, waited 10 seconds, then turned it back on. I did this while parked in my driveway and while driving at 50 mph, neither time affected the engine. While the engine was running in my driveway I took a really long flat head screwdriver and found a screw on the compressors clutch that I could push down on and with the climate control telling me that the fan was running full blast and the A/C was on I pushed down on it and it turned freely, not all the way around but just until I stopped pushing.

    So here comes the questions: 1) Should the clutch have been able to turn like that? 2) If the compressor is bad would the fan still run? 3) If the fan is bad would the compressor not engage? 4) Is the entire system so intricately interconnected that I now have to go through a process of elimination and determine if the fan or compressor is bad? 5) Is it possible it needs recharging and would it be possible to recharge if the compressor isn't engaging?

    If there's anything else that I could be missing please feel free to share.

    FYI: I did go through every single large fuse in the large fuse box but my dad (who I got the Saab from) warned me that F36 is notorious for going out once a year and usually the A/C goes with it.

    So after thinking about it I went to my usual fall back of YouTube and found a video for my exact problem. Usually I'm not so lucky to have such an easy fix but sure enough I now have a working A/C again. I'll embed the video in case anyone else has the same issue and I'll also make this suggestion: In the video he says to use WD-40, and I know a lost of people swear by it but I don't like it as a lubricant. For my issue I had a can of spray Liquid Wrench that had a straw tube. If you happen to have a small can of it 3-in-1 oil might even be better because you can put a couple of drops in there instead of aerating your entire blower and making your car smell like lubricant.
