2011 Saab 94-x lift gate problems

hello, my rear liftgate stopped working. I figured out because it was sitting in two inches of water. I found a brand new module but I heard I need to get it programmed first. There is no power going to the liftgate at all though. I checked the fuses and they are all fine. So, two questions.... why wouldn't the rear lift gate have power? And how can I get the board programmed? Volvo said they can't do it. Cadillac said they can't do it. Such a shame cuz the car looks brand new. Just have some tail light issues.... haha!

Anyone want to buy a Saab 94x??? LOL

Let me know if you know of a guy... haha1

thank you for all your help! You are all awesome!

Cadillac can't, or won't program your Saab 9-4?

If Cadillac can't, it has to be that Cad dealership isn't authorized by GM to work on Saab. The Cad CTS and Saab ride the same platform, were built at the same plant and the GM card I use in my Tech 2 when I work on my brothers Suburban has the 9-4 listed under North American Saab along with the Trollblazer and Saabaru. Basically, any GM store that has been around long enough to have a Tech 2 can plug into the non Sweed built Saabs. Factory authorization to work on Saab is a whole different story and this means you need to find an authorized GM store.

What about the Saab service center in Austin? http://www.saabaustin.com/

The 9-4X is such a rare vehicle so they may say the same. Perhaps try a different Cadillac dealer?

I am about to take mine to the local Cadillac dealership. They say that they can fix my power lift-gate strut failure, possibly with a GM non OEM (Saab) part. It has been a couple of years since the original failure but it has helped me keep my arm strength up lifting it manually and propping it open.

Did you fix it? if yoes, what was the problem?
Anyway, if you need to program 9-4x with scan tool. you can say to it, that it's Caddy SRX 2011. It works.

Hey guys, circling back around to this, were you ever able to get your liftgate fixed? I bought the new modele board but when I plug it in nothing happens, its like its not getting any power at all. All the fuses look good. Any ideas why it would be completely dead? Is there a reset button somewhere Im not finding? If the fuses work, you'd think I would still get power... Im about to sell the 9-4x so I am hoping to fix it. Everything else on the car works great! Let me know

I know this is old, but for reference... Sometimes the module itself just needs a reboot, which can be done by pulling both LGCM fuses from the rear fuse box for 1 min. Even with a new module, I have found that the U0230 code won't clear on its own. I have been able to clear the code both with ODBLink MX+ and VCX Nano. In theory a brand new module also has to be programmed & calibrated before it will work, but my last replacement seems to be working normally without any additional steps.

I'm dealing with the programming issues as well.... I have a new TCM (aka AC Delco Techm) inside the GM 6T70 transmission that comes with the base model 94x. I was able to download and install the AC Delco and buy the SPS programming for one VIN $45. When I try to add {replace/reprogram) the brand new TECHM module, it gets almost through the process and then fails saying the conditions when we're not met. I have a stabilitrak error I think that's causing problems, but if I figure this out or anybody knows how to do this I really would love to figure it out..

I'm not sure if Orio has the SPS software as well But when you use General Motors ACDelco Tech Line software with SPS programming, you can see 2010 and 2011 Saab 9.4X and Saab 9.5 as an option. Matter of fact some modules I was able to install the final release of {ie ECM)

I guess most of the time you replace the TCM transmission control module. You have to do this while you're adding and reprogramming and the engine control module as well.

Only problem is when you connect your Bosch MDI adapter or any other compatible j2534 pass-through device. It connects and reads the VIN but doesn't come back with the proper information like year or model or make.... It just says 1970.

I tried changing the information manually and it will connect and it will download an update and even reset transmission oil life values. Some modules like the ECM but as far as adding a brand new TECHM & reprogramming the ECU to see the new TCM inside the 6T70 transmission, I'm having problems. I can't get beyond the adaptation fastlearn procedure.

So close.... I go from having no forward or reverse gears to having 3rd and reverse {limp mode).... But can't get to the solenoid learning adaptations..

If anybody has some hints or tips or tricks on how to do this, I have everything here and it's all legit through GM because you can purchase an SPS programming session 2 years for $45. Just Google techline ACDelco and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm willing to pay anybody or any dealer in Massachusetts/CT to get my new TECHM and throttle body working....

Thanks for reading all this. _Brian

Any luck with the programming? I think there's a good chance SPS2 just isn't going to work for us. I've read elsewhere that if you contact ACDelco they may give you 1 day access to the old SPS.
