Need advice
I have to replace the rear shock absorbers on a 2001 SAAB 9-5 station wagon. The shock absorber on the car is Sachs which is significantly larger than the one I have bought. See photos. Can I use the shock absorber I have bought or do I need to find sachs. All the shock absorbers I find are similar to the one I have already bought. The spring on the Sachs damper does not fit on the new one, so I may have to buy new springs.

Seems like the new one won't fit but you can always try.

The new one seems to be compressed but still seems to be a different size altogether. If these are replacement for the rear, you probably also want to replace the springs. The 9-5 is known for rear sag of the springs.

Have you tried putting the Saab P/N (5237433) into esaabparts? It appears they are available from Sweden.
