    07 95 Aero Wagon

PARTS ADVERTISED AS OEM - BUT NOT OEM ?

I own a 2007 9-5 Aero wagon. In Feb of 202I I purchased from eEuroparts.com an A/C compressor. The part was advertised as a Nissens Saab A/C Compressor (New), SKU 12758380A, "Quality: OEM-Original Equipment" . The original OEM A/C Compressor on my 9-5 Saab, which lasted 14 years, was GM Part#P12758380. The Nissens replacement compressor failed after 33 months of use. The part failed 8 months after the expiration of eEuroparts 24 month warranty. When I purchased the part I was informed that the Nissens A/C compressor was a genuine OEM part.
I am requesting the help of the Saab 9-5 community regarding the following:
    1. To your knowledge, was Nissens ever an OEM A/C compressor supplier for the 2007 Saab 9-5 Aero, during the 07 model year?
    2. What has been the experience of other 9-5 owners regarding the Nissans A/C compressor, e.g. its reliability, performance, etc.; and
    3. Have other members experienced problems with parts advertised as "Genuine OEM" when the part was not a Saab OEM part.

Thank you in advance for your help.
    Wm.

Many of eeuro's parts are sold as "OEM Quality" because the manufacturer also makes and sells parts for OEMs. It's more of an indication of supposed part quality. However most manufacturers can and do build to a price point.

I have also been troubled by so-called OEM accessories. It's an anti-theft siren. I initially replaced the "OEM adapter" alarm horn due to the SID alarm prompt, but after a month, It started barking in the garage. The situation immediately improved after replacing Saab certified accessories.
At present, the original compressor provided by Orio (12758380)is no longer in production and is an OEM accessory. There is no mention of the brand or relevant information.

The suppliers of original accessories are also almost impossible to search, but according to the code provided by Orio, the commonly used OEM supplier for Saab, valeo, can be found with the code 813423
The quality of most OEM quality adapter parts is quite uneven. I have considered replacing large brand parts, including Febi, but my technician said that once the warranty period expires, it will be very bad. The 9-5 air conditioning compressor here is rarely damaged, and the most common problem with the 9-5 air conditioning is refrigerant leakage (pipeline friction). In addition to OEM, another option is to buy original accessories with lower price positioning brands. In my impression, the 9-5 9600 compressor is almost identical to the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta and can be experimentally tested.
