Maybe use the XP only for the Tech II?

Computer with XP software is a hole filled with questions and the first question is: Was XP the factory installed software with all the component drivers necessary for full operation?

[QUOTE=jonbew;81105]If your computer has a serial port you need the computer model specific driver. Same for the USB ports. You also need to do something about the dongle, I spent years in the data communication business, dusted off my 30 year old data line monitor to find the problem with the serial comm link between the Tech2 and the laptop, then edited a couple of the .DLL files to make the thing work without the dongle.
Also, if you loaded TIS from CD you need to update with a CD, if you loaded from a USB drive update with a USB. Downloading TIS to what you need to use will save you hours of frustration.
