I bought these... Kicker 41DSC354 3-1/2" 2-Way Speakers at Crutchfield. Sound very nice and doesn't sap the amp of available watts.
When a Saab dies, the world becomes a little less quirky.

Great write-up on replacing the stock speakers. Had you already replaced the dead unit or was the improvement noticeable with the stock radio? I'm not sure about the power output and impedance from the stock 07 radio, but I know it's not the Bose system. Thinking I'll start with speakers and see how it sounds.

Nordwulf, thanks again for this great write-up. I actually found this forum because of your post. I disconnected the center speaker and replaced front 3.5's and rear 4's with new Blaupunkts (these are Chinese ones, I think, but oh well). Speakers cost $50 total, and the sound volume and definition is incredibly better. Very easy to get to everything, too, and the stock head unit still sounds great. Thanks so much for walking us through this. Definitely the easiest speaker replacement I've ever done in a car!

Really helpful thread.
Does Infinity REF3022CFX 3.5" fit under the grill in 04 9-3? Looking for a audio upgrade but i would like to keep it looking like stock. I have already installed woofer and amp with AIV Adjustable Level Converter. Now looking for a clear sound from the front end coz the woofer kinda overpowers the stock 7-Speaker system.
